OBJECTIVES

1. Assess the effect of postoperative complications on long-term survival of patients treated for rectal cancer.
2. Understand the emerging role of minimally invasive approaches to rectal cancer and their effects on postoperative complications.
3. Understand the place of SCIP measures in reducing postoperative complications after rectal surgery.
